Full-Time:

A Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with an average grade of not lower than "B" (3.0 or 80/100); or equivalent.
All applicants must submit one of the following original score reports/certificates within the validity period for assessment:
- TOEFL (550 Paper-based; 213 Computer-based; or 79 Internet-based); or
- IELTS (Academic) (6.5); or
- GMAT (Verbal not lower than 21); or
- Have a degree from a university in Hong Kong or an English-speaking country or area; or
- Have obtained a recognized professional qualification awarded in Hong Kong or an English speaking country or area; or equivalent.

Full-Time Advanced Research Track:

Exceptional English skills (TOEFL ≥100, IELTS ≥7.5);
Additional admission requirement (GMAT≥650);
Exceptional overall performance – academic, extracurricular, and employment-related;
Recruit from only a select group of 985 universities or equivalent;
Candidates undergo usual admission requirements, followed by a supplemental interview with SFI Academic Panel (consisting of SFI/SME professors)

Tuition Fees & Scholarships

Full-Time:
Normative study period: 18 months.The tuition fee for the entire programme (2020 entry) is RMB 258,000.Merit-based entrance scholarships are granted to qualified candidates.Scholarships for Excellence will be awarded subject to satisfactory academic performance.

Full-Time Advanced Research Track:
Normative study period: 18 months.ART admission comes with the award of a prestigious "Dean's Scholarship", which consists of a full programme scholarship (100% tuition/fee waiver) plus a supplemental monthly stipend (of 2,000 RMB) lasting for 12-month.

Step1: Online application
Applicants should submit their applications and upload documents via the online application system (http://apply.cuhk.edu.cn/matrix-base/gs/login)

Step2:Review supporting documents
The Programme Office of Master of Science in Finance (Part-time) will review all qualifications and supporting documents submitted by applicants.

Step3: Interview and written exam
Shortlisted candidates will be notified individually by the programme office and invited to attend an onsite interview and written exam.

Step4:Admission
All applicants who pass the interview and written exam will be eligible to be admitted. All applicants who are eligible for admission will be given a formal admission notice after his/her academic qualifications and application materials have been reviewed and approved.

FAQ

What is the difference between full-time mode and part-time mode?

The duration for part-time programme is 2 years, and timing of classes is different. Considering that most of part-time students have full-time careers, part-time courses are arranged during non-working hours. The part-time and full-time programmes both share the same high-quality faculty and senior practitioners. However, the scholarships for full-time students do not apply to part-time students.

How to apply for this program? Do I have to attend the National Postgraduate Admission Examination?

CUHK-Shenzhen has obtained the approval of the Ministry of Education enroll students independently, so applicants do not need to take the national examination. Students can choose to submit applications and materials at the official website of CUHK-Shenzhen.

What is the most crucial part of my application?

The assessment for every application is based mainly on academic and interview performance. However, there are other critical factors in determining admissions, such as English proficiency and other supporting documents.

Can I still apply for admission if my test results have not been released?

Yes, you may apply with your current available documents. Then, a conditional offer will be issued if you were accepted conditionally. 

When is the application deadline?

The deadline for 2020 application is 30th July, 2020. The online application system will be closed in advanced if the programme is full.

What language is being used in teaching?

Courses are taught in English. However, in the case of our senior practitioners, their lectures or practical workshops often use Chinese.
