  • When will the referrer receive the request link sent by the system?

    When you submit the application, the system will immediately send an invitation link to the referrer (there may be delays in the network). If the referrer does not receive the invitation email for a long time, you can ask the referrer to first check the junk mailbox to see if it has been intercepted. If still not received, the referrer can send a recommendation letter to the project team (specific information as mentioned above).

  • What's the relationship between CUHK and CUHK-Shenzhen?

    Operating under a "one brand, two campuses" philosophy, CUHK-Shenzhen follows the same rigorous academic and teaching standards for which The Chinese University of Hong Kong is renowned. The graduates of CHUK-Shenzhen will get a degree certification from CUHK.

  • How to apply for this program?

    CUHK-Shenzhen is approved by the Ministry of Education to admit students independently, so applicants do not need to take the Unified National Graduate Entrance Examination. Students can submit applications and upload related materials via the official application system (https://pgapply.cuhk.edu.cn/). Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of RMB 300.

  • Are there any restrictions on the applicant's undergraduate major or work industry?

    There is no restriction on the applicant's undergraduate major or work industry. We welcome students with different backgrounds who are interested in finance to apply for this program.

  • What if I can't provide English language proof now?

    English language proof document can be submitted later. However, it is recommended to provide the language materials as soon as possible, so as not to delay the subsequent admission process.

  • Is recommendation letter required? Any language or format requirement?

    Yes, two reference letters are required without any language and format requirements, both Chinese and English are acceptable. Applicants need to fill in the information of the referees and the system will automatically send a request email to the referees once you submit your application.

  • Is it possible to apply for multiple master programmes at the same time?

    Yes, applicants are allowed to apply for multiple master's programmes at the same time, but each program requires a non-refundable application fee of RMB 300.

  • Does the programme offer scholarships?

    Yes, applicants who are admitted will automatically enter our scholarship pool and we will grant incoming scholarships based on the results of their academic background and personal accomplishments. Academic scholarships will be awarded to enrolled students based on their academic performance during study.

  • How long after the interview will I be notified of the admission result?

    Normally in a month. Sometimes it maybe changed from time to time depends on the approval process. You are suggested to wait at least for a month. If you still do not receive any information in a month, please call or email the admissions office to inquire whether the results have been released.

  • When should I pay the tuition fee?

    The total tuition fee is paid in 3 installments. The first installment requires 20% of the total tuition fees to be paid by the Due Date on your offer. 40% of the total tuition fees is to be paid before the first semester and second semester respectively. When choosing extra courses or retake courses, extra tuition fee will be charged according to the credits.

  • What is the Medium of Instruction?

    The medium of instruction is English. However, in the case of our senior practitioners, their practical workshops will be conducted in Chinese.

  • Does the programme arrange for internships and jobs?

    No, we do not arrange internships or jobs for students, but do provide opportunities. Our courses have invited many senior practitioners, which will give students a lot of opportunities to contact with the industry and help students to seek internships and jobs. In addition, SFI has its own career development center, which provides students with a full range of career guidance services and school-enterprise resources.

  • Is it possible to graduate in advance?

    The standard study period of our full-time mode is one and a half years. Students can graduate early or late (graduate within one year or two and a half years). The standard study period of our part-time mode is two years, and students can delay graduation for up to four years.

  • Do I need to submit a graduation thesis and conduct a graduation defense for graduation?

     

    No, our program does not require the submission of a graduation thesis or a graduation defense. Students can graduate only after completing the required credits with qualifying grades. We offer a course named 'Directed Research in Finance' as elective, which allows students to conduct extended research and write papers with academic professors or their industry mentors.

  • Does the tuition fee include textbook fee?

    No, students will need to buy textbooks themselves if needed.
