Director’s Message
Welcome to the Master of Science Programme in Finance! We are proud to offer one of Asia’s leading graduate degrees in this dynamic and exciting field.
We are a rigorous and highly-selective AACSB-accredited programme that inherits the exceptional academic standards of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. We deliver a globally-focused curriculum and many additional professional resources, positioning our graduates for careers across the breadth of the financial and technology sectors in the mainland and beyond.
Our unique approach begins with our internationally-trained faculty, who incorporate elements of their cutting-edge financial research into our evolving curriculum. Next, senior-level financial executives supplement with insights and perspectives from their experiences at top-tier financial institutions. Students absorb the best of modern financial theories together with the latest market practices across the global financial sectors.
Students further tailor their financial skill development by choosing a specialization – we offer concentrations in Corporate Finance and Investment (CFI) and in FinTech (FT). The CFI track focuses on the breadth of traditional capital markets, and jumpstarts careers in areas such as investment management and corporate finance, among many others. In the highly quantitative FT track, students learn programming tools to effectively employ big data, machine learning and AI to address the fast-changing financial challenges of tomorrow.
Other qualities set us apart. Our longer program length allows time for multiple intern experiences in Shenzhen’s dynamic financial sector. Students also benefit from SFI’s highly-developed Career Development Center and our engaged alumni network. And our English immersion learning environment burnishes the language skills for those seeking careers in Hong Kong or the West.
